Myrtle Beach

At the end of May we went on vacation to Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach as a whole isn't my favorite beach/city but we like to stay at Marriott's Ocean Watch Villas. It's so pretty there, multiple pools, lots for kids to do, you really don't need to leave the resort for anything, and it's just totally relaxing - well, as relaxed as you can be vacationing with three little ones :)


We went Memorial Day weekend and when we got there on Saturday the beach was so crowded. I was feeling majorly claustrophobic. We should have known it was going to be crowded. Luckily Sunday and Monday weren't bad at all.

Throwback to Laura's wedding -- March 8, 2014

In March we headed out to SLC for my sister Laura's wedding. Andrew was traveling for work and had to meet us there so I had the privilege of flying by myself with all 3 girls.  

(let the peace signs begin)

 Well, we made it and it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated it to be.  Things were going relatively well until I had sprite, cran-apple juice, and diet coke spilled all over me.  With about 20 minutes left in flight I consolidated all of our drink leftovers into one cup waiting for the flight attendant to come around and pick up trash.  And somehow Molly managed to dump it all over me. I jumped out of my seat to clean up the mess and a stewardess promptly approached me and reminded me to fasten my seatbelt for landing.  I Kind of snapped and said, "I'm working on it!" And then under my breath I mumbled, "if you would have picked up trash 5 minutes ago we wouldn't be having this problem right now." Haha kind of funny that's the main thing I remember from the flight.  Oh and losing Molly's shoe somewhere in the parking garage, on the shuttle from the garage to airport, waiting in line to check in, or at security checkpoint where I finally noticed as I went to take off her shoe(s). I looked like a great mom letting my 1.5 year old walk around barefoot through the airport. But, like I said, we made it! And we were so excited to be with all my family.  Amy met us at the airport to help me get all our stuff and kids to the rental car. 

  My girls wasted no time playing with their cousins and aunts and uncles.  Penelope and Pearce buddied up really quickly.

The next day (Friday) Andrew arrived and we spent the early afternoon at Chuck E. Cheese with all the kids, grandkids, and my dad. Then that evening Trevor's family hosted a dinner for everyone to get to know each other.  They ordered in Cafe Rio and had a mexican themed dinner.    

Finally the big wedding day was here.  My girls were so excited to get dressed up and see Laura in her pretty dress. 

These girlies were loving every minute they spent together.

Awwww, the newlywed lovebirds.  Their ceremony was really beautiful and so refreshing to be a part of and remember the covenants I've made.  And great advice from the sealer on putting each other first always and treating your spouse like a king/queen.  Trevor is such a nice person and I know he will be such a great partner in life for Laura.  I love to see that first picture of the bride and groom walking out of the temple doors.  It's exciting to think of all the adventures that lie ahead of them and how much more they will grow and love each other as time goes on and as they experience life together.

Beautiful bride, beautiful ceremony, beautiful reception, and just an all around beautiful day! And Laura, I think you and Trevor with have a peaceful life with all the peace signs thrown your way from the girls on your wedding day!  Love you Laura!

Curfew's come to Charlotte!

My sister Emily has been planning her trip to Charlotte for months now so we've just been waiting and so excited to see them and let all the kids play together.

I forgot to bring my camera when we were out and about so these are all from my phone and even some borrowed from Emily's ;)

First day they were here we drove by the Charlotte motor speedway and went to Robby Gordon's Motorsports. Apparently it's not a tourist attraction and they don't let people in, it's just a big ole workshop. Jeremy really wanted to go in but the lady in the front office wouldn't let us in. We were walking around looking in the windows and one of the workers noticed us looking in the windows and probably realized Jeremy is a car enthusiast  and let us in a backdoor to look at the workshop. The kids weren't very interested so I went back out with them and they played in the grass and picked flowers while Jeremy had a little tour. He loved it!

Afterwards we went and had lunch at the food court in the mall and let the kids play at the playland.

Next stop was Pelican's to get some snowballs!

When we got home the kids played in the sprinkler and then got comfy on the couch with some popcorn and a movie.

The next day we had a change in plans because of some heavy rain.
I needed to go to the church to set some things up for young women so we took all the kids with us and had a play day in the gym.

When we got home it was time to get ready for our crawfish boil. Unfortunately I have no pictures of the actual crawfish when we were ready to eat because I was too excited to dig in! :)

On Friday morning we all headed down to Charleston, South Carolina.
After stopping for some barbecue for lunch we headed to the coast for a boat ride around the harbor.

After the boat ride we had a little pizza party back at our hotel and let the kids swim at the pool. 

On Saturday morning we headed back downtown for a carriage ride tour of the city. It was such a beautiful morning strolling through the streets of downtown Charleston. The homes were so gorgeous. Such a charming place!

After our horse and buggy ride we headed over to Folly Beach for some fun in the sun.
It was so fun to see all the little cousins play together. We could've done this for days!

Unfortunately we had to head back to Charlotte on Saturday night but Emily, Jeremy, Pearce, and Henry stayed in Charleston until Monday afternoon for some more sightseeing.

On Tuesday morning we just hung out at home and let the kids play all morning since it would be their last chance to play together. Then we picked up some lunch and went to the park for a little picnic and the kids got to run around and play. Such a lovely afternoon and so cute to see the kids have so much fun together.

What a fun trip!! We really hope they can live closer to us one day!!!
